Module A ButtonTopic A10: Creating An Effective Online Syllabus

Introduction
In previous topics you learned how to write learning objectives, design learning activities to promote active learning, assess the process and products of learning, identify and assess available technologies, and determine your role as an online instructor.

This topic will help you to pull it all together into your online syllabus, by presenting you with practical designs and tools to use in creating an effective online syllabus.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of Topic A10, you will:

  • Identify the four primary elements of any syllabus.
  • Collate the basic content for your syllabus using a content template.
  • Create a basic online syllabus using at least one of the three syllabi formats/designs presented.
  • Create at least one navigational aid to facilitate student use of your online syllabus.
